With its robust single piece design, Zip-Torq takes the guess work out of bearing adjustment. Zip-Torq is a unitized axle fastener that uses a patented self-locking ratchet system to secure the wheel end and prevent back off. Zip-Torq consistently delivers accurate endplay between .001″–.005″ using the STEMCO 2-1-1 method.
Single piece design allows installation without special tooling. No clips, keepers, snap rings or screws to install.
Unlike other unitized axle fasteners, Zip-Torq installs partially by hand. It free spins onto the axle, engaging the tang in the axle keyway. Once the STEMCO 2-1-1 torque process begins, the self-locking ratchet system can be heard working to secure the wheel end. Once adjusted, the nut cannot be removed by hand. The nut and spring steel keeper mate and lock in position on the axle spindle in .002″ increments.
Zip-Torq fastening nut cannot be rotated by hand after wheel-end adjustment is complete. After locking mechanism disengages, one can remove by hand.
Zip-Torq is compatible with most automated installation equipment, so there’s no need to purchase new equipment.
